Choice Bank of Belize faces liquidity problems

What lawsuit? If you wanted a lawsuit, the best time for it was befire this happened.Do you think they will give you whats left without making you sign a paper that the account was settled?:))
If you had a lawsuit going before this happened you were getting cash before we do.
I wanted a lawsuit, but the cost was enormous and you had no guarantees. From the moment you won till you got the money was a long time and a long procedure if the bank didn t go into liquidation. But who knew it will?

As Axe said, it is a liquidation.
You are now called creditors, and the list of creditors is surely long.
Unfortunately you are not the priority of the liquidator, employees, taxes authorities are yes and more surprising the liquidator fees before you.
You may receive back part of your funds but it will be a very little one. If choice bank had all the money needed, then there would be no point to be in liquidation .
So now what to do?
You can sue the owners for scam liquidation if it is.. but forget about money, it s only for your personal revenge.
You can also wait and see, filling their form and sitting in front of good movie with pop corn, but forget about money.
You can say ok it s over, I played I lost , it s the game. And now go ahead , make money and even more than what you lost.

I will do both, make money while I follow the instructions, Fill the form, send the documents notariazed, wait the time as each step lasts.

Btw AK told me he had the same problem on other country with other bank and he got the 70% after 6 monthes. So that isn't zero.

I asked FCP if they could send me the last statement with the balance, the transactions, the date when the account was opened and they answered this:

When u download the monthly statements or the transactions history to pdf, it doesn't appear the balance. The way I found is to print/save the screen to a pdf.

Hey, all those negative people, what are you doing here on this forum if you think u will not get ur money back? This is to help each other, not to send negative vibs.

@Claudia

Sorry if it sounds like negative vibe, it's not the meaning.
In case of bankruptcy of a company the luck of getting something back is very little.
It's a professional forum about offshoring and banking, it s not a psychologist support forum. The best help is to inform you.
So of course try to get the more possible from choice bank liquidation, but don't count only on this, work and make some new money.
I wish you to get 100% of your money back.

Choice Bank sues Central Bank for damages

e two claimants, Choice Bank Limited and Choice Group Holdings, LLC, a company based in New York City, but incorporated in the State of Delaware, USA, which holds 100 percent of issues and outstanding shares of Choice Bank, believe that the actions of the Central Bank and the Minister of Finance were wholly unjustified and unlawful. The claimants are alleging that as a result of these unlawful decisions, they have suffered loss and damages, including damage to the reputation of the directors and officers of Choice Bank and Choice Group Holdings, LLC.

As a result of the losses that they suffered, the claimants are seeking several declarations from the Supreme Court.

They are seeking a declaration that in deciding to recommend to the Minister that he revoke the license, the Central Bank and the Minister acted in breach of their statutory duties under the International Banking Act.

They are also seeking a declaration that the Central Bank and the Minister acted in breach of the statutory duties imposed upon them by the International Banking Act.

In addition, they are seeking a declaration that the Central Bank and the Minister failed to exercise their powers to promote the International Banking Act and they acted for ulterior or improper purposes.

“A declaration that the Minister and the Central Bank acted unlawful as being in breach of Choice’s right to a fair hearing in that they failed to give Choice an opportunity to explain why the intended decisions were not necessary and that their actions were irrational in light of the bank’s Repayment Plan,” said the court document.

The lawsuit is seeking to recover damages, including aggravated damages and damages to reputation, costs and such further relief that the court may see fit.

The Attorney General is named as a defendant in all lawsuits against the government, because the office is the principal legal advisor to the government.

all bulls**t !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are criminals

We're also a victim of this Choice Bank Limited meltdown. Fortunately we only have 5k USD deposited with Choice Bank since we mainly do our corporate banking in Hong Kong with Hang Seng Bank Limited which is a credible jurisdiction with deposit protection similar to FDIC in the USA.

Unfortunately BVI companies aren't as welcome in Hong Kong now unlike when we first opened our corporate account back in 2008 because a lot of corrupt government officials in China (Do note that China and Hong Kong are separate jurisdictions) used BVI companies with HK bank accounts to embezzle money from Chinese State owned enterprises. Now all BVI companies are treated with suspicion in Hong Kong and Hong Kong banks irrationally don't want to open corporate bank accounts for BVI companies anymore even if you show them a business plan and evidence of your business operations. We found this out after looking to open up a second Hong Kong corporate bank account for our BVI company and everyone refused us despite us having a corporate bank account in Hong Kong with Hang Seng Bank Limited for years in good standing. We also heard a rumor back in 2016 that Hang Seng would be closing all BVI company bank accounts which would have been hugely disruptive for our business.

As a hedge we decided to go open a second corporate bank account for our BVI in another jurisdiction which ultimately lead us to Choice Bank Limited. We deposited the minimum and the bank account was basically kept idle aside from one transaction every 6 months to keep it from going dormant.

Fortunately the rumor that Hang Seng Bank Limited would close all BVI company bank accounts turned out to not be true since we continue to bank with Hang Seng Bank Limited, but Choice Bank Limited decided to have a complete meltdown due to poor diversification and lost its banking license during the process.

So we're filling out the claim form and see what will happen. We are filling out the second claim form as an unsecured depositor. There is one question on the form that I am not sure how to answer: "Has the deposit been assigned? Y/N". What does "assigned" mean in this context? Does that mean assigning the deposit as collateral security for a debt?
