What do folks think about the below? Who on earth would want to live in Australia with such laws . Coming to EU soon. Remember I mentioned governments introducing ID checks on social media sites to prevent online harassment etc well looks like it all might be happening quicker than I expected.

Actually, it comes together the worst confinement ever, with the entire island under quarantine for a single covid case. With the notably exceptions of Visegrad countries and Russia, all white-predominant countries are killing themselves (I put Chile and Argentina in the same basket).

f*****g Hell. I said it in another thread that Australians are fucked, but now they are really fucked, it's even worse than the US and Europe.

"Australian companies, system administrators etc. must comply, and actively help the police to modify, add, copy, or delete the data of a person under investigation. Refusing to comply could have one end up in jail for up to ten years, according to the new bill"

and

"Politicians justify the need for the bill by stating that it is intended to fight child exploitation (CSAM) and terrorism"

Again with the Children excuse BS. Do you see the pattern? Australia, Canada, the US, Europe are all adding this draconian laws, and surprise! it's all for the children. Like come on! at least be good at lying, but I guess some young people on twitter and facebook moms will fall for this BS pretty easily, they may even hand their phones to the authorities willingly as a sign of protest to show that they are "good people" and "have nothing to hide".

Also this law is so vague like most laws in Australia. Can you imagine the police seizing your phone and be able to add or remove stuff from it? Like they can practically frame you for anything and all of that is now legal?. you can be innocent and the police can just send you a child ab*se image or a drug sale message and now you are a pedo or a drug dealer.
f**k that.

or you are refusing to decrypt your encrypted hard drive because of confidential corporate files? Great, they will send you to prison for up to 10 years.
f**k that.

I invest into a lot of tech businesses and I can't imagine being forced to include backdoors in everything I do, jeopardizing the security of my clients in the process, just to support some state agenda.
f**k that too.

Side note: Australians are banned from travelling and now they are living under surveillance 24/7. Yeah, what a "civilized" and "democratic" country indeed.

If you are an aussie and you're reading this, you really need to get the f**k out of this place once Australia eases this restrictions and you can travel again. Good luck to aussies who don't agree with this authoritarian BS and to the one that agree with it, they can respectfully go and f**k themselves.

It seems that every country wanna be like my country, South Korea.

Law enforcement can access all platforms data (search history, chat data, whatever) without court order or anything.

Australia might make watching porn illegal like "South" Korea for preventing "CSAM".

Sooner or later , Apply to all country.

I want to mention one positive side of this rule.
So many Innocent people are harassed by bad people using social media. Sometimes authority did not able to catch the "Bad Guy".
This rule will help to catch those "Bad Guys."
First world country have cyber bullying/security law. Even today in so many country, Police will not file case because there is no cyber rules/policy in their country.

Every Rule have Good and Bad side.

Yeah I agree cyber bullying especially to kids where some even end up committing suicide is very bad. However I don't think it will be mainly used in such a way. It will likely be used to send automated lawsuit threats and criminal prosecution threats if you say anything slanderous or against public interest like organizing anti government protests. A good example would be someone presenting alternative COVID facts out of line with the government line. Anyone publishing material saying a politician or wealthy business person is corrupt. It will be used in such a way as to intimidate the ordinary person into not exercising their right to free speech.

This is how it will be used in Australia: conf/(%
