Let's say that someone is a shareholder and director, with another shareholder and director owning 50% each of the Seychelles IBC.

One of the shareholder wants to leave the IBC, to pursue other ventures. The other shareholder may be a bit angry about this so the breakup may be a bit conflictual.

I believe that resigning from a director role is very easy, however, (how) can a shareholder sell/redeem his shares to the company and leave?

Sell the shares to the remaining shareholder or to the company itself. This usually has to be done at a fair market value, but there can be ways around it. Check with your Seychelles registered agent or a Seychellois lawyer to confirm.

You should also consider how this is treated under the laws where the shareholders and the company are tax resident.
