How is it that we have not yet discussed the man here who is helping politicians and world powers get what they have always wanted, full control of the human race?
The man himself has told various media that artificial intelligence will take over most of the world's jobs. This will result in enormous unemployment, one can only guess what this will entail!
Sam Altman

In addition to this lovely initiative like ChatGPT, the same man has now developed a currency unit that will remedy the problem the man himself has created, Worldcoin!

If you put it all together and assuming that Sam Altman is successful with what he is doing, we will end up with a world society where we have a very small ELITE who owns everything including the stupid man in the street.

It will be the unemployed who will serve the Elite, take care of their huge houses, villas, airplanes, yachts and whatever else you can buy for the infinite wealth this Elite will possess.

Have you thought about becoming the Elite's modern slave with no rights?

Have you considered that it can go very fast from now on?

This all reminds me about Terminator with this crazy scientists who has developed the chip and intelligence for the insane world it has become in the film!

He's promoting himself. He has to say this. Real AI, a movie-like fantasy, doesn't exist. I developed an "AI" medical diagnostic system in the 80s while in graduate school with Prolog & LISP. See one of the copyrights below. Sold it to a multinational. It can diagnose better than a physician, provided it had adequate input.

What these people call AI is really a large database. But as we used to say in dBASE and FoxBase: Garbage IN = Garbage OUT!

It will take hundreds if not thousands of years for things to really get going unless someone comes along who is an outlier, but we haven't seen this person in thousands of years.

Logistics is still a huge market. We can't get anything done without transport. People will continue to shave. Chew gum etc.

There is no AI that can write an English legal piece better than Bryan A. Garner, Editor in Chief, Black's Law Dictionary.

No AI can predict the future, etc.

You get the point. It's a fad. I avoided pushing this in the 80s because it was disingenuous & dishonorable but Wall Street guys didn't give a f*ck! They wanted MONEY and lots of it for themselves.

Welcome to George Orwell's 1984

I agree 100%
I paid 20$ for premium version of chatgpt and I didn't notice any difference with free version
I cannot call it AI. We are not yet there
Chatgpt has billions of data collected from internet just like database.
I feel that Chatgpt is misleading and doesn't deserve the name of AI
They better call it offline database with 1 billion data inside.
I believe real AI would take a couple a few years. Not more than 10.
I m pissed off at all these websites that popup every day claiming to work with Ai.

What do you call it when your car suddenly learned which route you take every day or you Iphone just know what you are doing everytime at XY time ?

In addition, Netflix is out to hire an AI expert with a 900K US$ salary, they describe AI to be used for helping their users to find relevant movies etc. faster and to make the payment easier. Isn't that AI ?

Self driving car is not AI
They run them on streets just like Google maps. Machine record data it collected from test drive. Basically they input different situations inside machine and it will save what to do in each case. This is why many times you see accidents because of a situation not recognized by machine
About Netflix, I need to test it first.
I am for AI, I can't wait to see it in action. But we are not there yet

This is just profiling.

I look at the prospects of such systems more optimistically. Previously, it was commonly believed that achieving the results we have now required the creation of highly complex systems, intricate logic, and the expertise of top-class specialists. The experience of ChatGPT and many other modern language models (as well as numerous others for tasks like image recognition and generation) has shown that the task can be tackled by a relatively simple but immensely large system (with billions of parameters), simply by feeding it vast amounts of data.
As a result, unplanned abilities to solve mathematical and logical problems emerged. ChatGPT has learned to translate texts better than specialized translators like Google Translate, even though nobody explicitly taught it the translation process. It learned this on its own by assimilating data from texts in various languages.
Of course, there's no guarantee that further scaling will continue to support the learning process of language models, but so far, major companies are heading down this path: building capacities for mass-producing specialized processors and preparing even more material for training (such as YouTube videos).
While everyone is anticipating the creation of full-fledged AI - AGI, the current models can serve as intermediate steps towards its development. Presently, a quite prevalent approach involves training neural networks using other neural networks. Many believe that the advent of AGI might occur much sooner (by 2030) than anticipated, prompting preparations to be made in this direction right now.
Another important challenge is that to achieve a quality output, prompts need to be written correctly. This has even given rise to a new profession - prompt engineer.
