That's the main reason why I'm trying to look outside the box. I pay around 10% personal tax at the moment and don't want to have to get residency in a high tax country for another passport.
What countries do you have in mind daxbr?
Thanks for the recommendations of O&O ShutUp10.
Can anyone comment on if it breaks functionality of your computer? I expect a few things to not work as perfectly but... does standard stuff like Windows Updates have trouble?
Funny, after reading this thread last month I ended up going down this track of researching. My passport says I am a Kiwi (New Zealand citizen).. It's a great passport but the more diversified I get the more I want a backup plan (is it Simon Black that says that, always have a backup plan?)...
@jackfrost I just wanted to say thanks for the info here on Transferwise. I assumed they only opened for major countries and just managed to get them to open an account for my company. Very easy really (easier than most archaic banks!!). Thanks again
Hi everyone,
My name is Andy. I've made a good living over the years using IT/websites but I've also made a bit of a mess for myself as well. I'm here to learn tips and contribute on how to set up myself financially nowadays.
I'm generally interested in personal tax/residence, citizenship...
I'd be very clear on what you want to achieve, what sort of passport you need (which countries they will give you visa free travel to, if it makes bank account opening easier, etc) and so on before laying down the cash.
