Bookkeeping for a Cyprus-based company that trades Cryptocurrencies

Fair enough, I'd prefer it if that was not the case since that would simplify things, but the difference in effective tax rate will be somewhat negligible. This is indeed a problem if it has to be capital held in fiat at a traditional bank as I simply can't think of a bank that would be okay...

Bookkeeping for a Cyprus-based company that trades Cryptocurrencies

I don't think you're required to give yourself a salary, if you are, you'd just pay yourself minimum wage which would be taxed at 0% + 15% social. You'd also write off the salary as cost, ending up paying only marginally more. This would be a huge problem if true since there's simply no way to...

Bookkeeping for a Cyprus-based company that trades Cryptocurrencies

I'll be relocating to Cyprus later this year, and in doing so, will be incorporating in Cyprus (I expect to pay 12.5% + GESY in effective tax rate as a non-dom trading cryptocurrencies). I have a few questions the relate to bookkeeping which I hope someone in here can help shed some light on...

What are the chances of getting caught?

Not everyone is willing to relocate to reduce their tax burden. While doing so can improve your quality of life, it can also worsen it as you'll be forced to give up many of the things you currently take for granted (at least to an extent), such as friends and family, not to mention, familiarity.

Question Proper crypto-trading structuring for Russian resident

I did read the article, I shared the paragraph which I think invalidates your claim. Anyhow, I could be wrong, I don't have a horse in this. Would you be willing to stake your reputation on the fact that anyone can move to Malta, as long as you don't incorporate operate any kind of business...

Question Proper crypto-trading structuring for Russian resident

I'm not so sure if your statement is accurate. Source: IBA - Is Malta the domicile of choice for crypto-millionaires? Like a lot of countries, it seems that if you're a somewhat passive investor, then you do not need to pay taxes on your gains. This does not appear unique to Malta.

Question Cyprus Company for Non-EU (?)

That's great. Are you staying in AirBNB units until you've figured out where and what exactly your plans will be? The thing is, I would be flying directly from Asia, unsure if I would have to make a pit-stop somewhere in Europe before I would be able to enter Cyprus (I know they've got that...

Question Proper crypto-trading structuring for Russian resident

I too engage in algo-trading with millions of transactions every year. I am on this site trying to deduce the same thing as you do. I have yet to find a clear answer, at the moment, my best candidate country (because I prefer to live in Europe) is Cyprus, however, it is unlikely to be tax-free...

Moving to Cyprus as EU citizen

I don't see how this is a relevant recommendation? Poland may be a lovely country, but I don't think that OP has shown any particular interest in Central Europe, given that he'd pay closer to 40% in effective-tax at his current income levels when taking into account income tax, corporate income...

Question Cyprus Company for Non-EU (?)

I understand. I'm in a similar situation to you, I'm hoping to migrate there later this year. However, still in the process of verifying some of the tax-related aspects. It can be quite difficult to get a hard confirmation of any one thing, especially as you see a lot of simplifications as well...

Question Cyprus Company for Non-EU (?)

Just to clarify, you're also planning on migrating to Cyprus? Otherwise, I don't see much point in incorporating there.

Moving to Cyprus as EU citizen

I'm very interested in this question as well as I find myself in a similar "boat". What makes you consider Malta over Dubai? Is there something about Malta having an "on paper" high taxation rate that exempts it from CFC/EM rules? If that's not the case, then clearly Dubai would be the better...

Cyprus non-dom effective tax-rates (three different cases)

I believe that the rates have increased. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gesy An even worse interpretation would be that they refer to self-employed as someone who isn't incorporated, hence, in this case, I might be expected to pay both the employee rate and the employer's rate, totaling 5.55%?
