Does anyone know when HMRC count you as being in the UK?
Is it when your plane lands or when you clear passport control and enter land side?
I bounce a lot into the UK and live by the 90 midnight rule but would like to know if I can just wait to enter after midnight or it's based on something...
I am Sark resident, PM me if you would like some info. Possibly no need for a company if you become resident as zero income tax. Summer is great, winter is not so great but travel on the winter avd it works well
Baltic, do you want to PM me? I moved to Monaco last August and live there virtually for free. Happy to share my experiences, I’m also looking for the right setup from a company structure and GiB seems like the winner for a European based system.
Not a Guernsey LLC but a standard Guernsey company, once the company builds wealth then the owner can either use a trust to protect the wealth of the company or the owner moves from Guernsey to live in a true tax free country and cashes out all the equity in the Guernsey company to their own...
More than happy to share my experience so far on the Monaco journey. PM if you would like an off line chat.
But in essence, yes it’s doable. Have the apartment on the first corner of the track and already have 2 x F1 teams interested in a buy out. I doubt it will turn a profit but the ability...
Lots of people amass wealth in companies, which then get covered into trusts therefore the wealth never really gets converted to personal. Others will use the money in the company to purchase property, and some will build up a pot in a Guernsey company and then move to a sandbox destination to...
The LLC is a pass through so at the end of the year in Guernsey the pass through would become income, on Sark there's lots of people with LLC's as you can't register a company in Sark. In Guernsey most people open a company, stock pile the cash in the company then run away to a tax free land to...
Not true at all... I have lived in Guernsey and now Sark. You will have to severe most ties with the UK and you will be only allowed to spend 90 midnights per year in the UK. Also, Guernsey has income tax, it's a flat 20% but also has quite a high social tax (NI) so you can work on about 30% tax...
Yes thats correct, the numbers vary massively, each apartment is allocated tickets based on the length of terrace, 2 tickets per 1m of terrace. I have a big apartment of 200sqm with a wrap around terrace on the first corner of the track, I get 68 tickets as the apartment has 34 meters of...
Well.... Have kids but one is in boarding school in the UK and the other lives with mum in Guernsey (separated, currently sorting out divorce) and yes, at the moment only rent properties but will by soon once markets cool even more....
It's possible to leave the UK and spend up to 90 nights in...
Yes, when you are resident of Sark you pay two types of tax. One is a property tax and one is called the forfeit, everyone pays property tax based on the sqm of their property, it's minimal, I rent a very small cottage as I'm not there much and my bill was around £600, in addition you either...
Isle of Man needs a resident director (they don't come cheap), plus you would need UK passport to call it home. If you are looking at IOM then consider Guernsey or where I live in Sark....
Sols is 100% correct, I started making good money as a UK resident and UK resident company, looked at all the options and the only real option was to leave the UK... It all comes down to if the tax saving is worth it and if you can leave (family tie, children etc). Been gone 5 years and to be...
