Could a UK holding -I guess you might mean an LTD - be used to hold investments such as stocks and ETFs? Like an IBKR account for instance, and have all of those benefits (maybe no capital gains too)? If so, are there any risks or downsides?
Maybe. If they have such a problematic/buggy onboarding process, where I opened the account but now I have all of those issues, yes, I might just discard it. I will try to get ahold of some customer representative first if I can.
I do not know. I could only open a brokerage account. And the website and process is messy. After opening the account I need to fill in the W-8 Ben, but when I was going to fill it I got an error on the website and I was logged out. I logged in again and I tried to fill it, but it does not let...
Good! I might apply tomorrow. I did not open it before because they don't provide a checking account (it is only for US residents) and I use mainly IBKR as a broker. But not that they do not require a minimum amount, I will give it a try.
In my case, it’s under my name, but people from certain nationalities (Portuguese for instance) may have compound names and multiple surnames. So mine isn’t registered exactly as it appears on my bank accounts, and I need to go sort it out. It could be something like the order is not the same.
Yes, a friend of mine got the same message. Also, be careful, if the name your phone number is registered under doesn’t exactly match the name on your bank account, they will close your accounts. You need to sort it out before April 30th.
No idea if they have. I know someone who got it, but I did not ask him about it. I just mentioned the requisites that I know for sure. I do not know if there are more.
I do not think, maybe I am mistaken, there is such a thing as a residence permit in TH. There are different type of visas that allows you to stay for XYZ time in Thailand, and then there is also a work permit. The permanent residency, after been working in the country and paying taxes for 3+...
I do not understand what you mean by residence permit and why you would need it? If you want to live in Thailand get a DTV and you can live in the country for 5 years. It is a cheap visa and easy to get.
I had my accountant request an exemption from HMRC last summer. However, HMRC has not yet acknowledged receipt of the letter, and my accountant has called them a couple of times. He was told that they have a huge backlog (more than six months) and will probably not process our letter until...
If your country of residence has a DTA with the US addressing this, could only be 15% WHT I guess. But you would have to let them know and you might have to fill a W-8 Ben. I think this is the procedure for what I know from other brokers.
Mine is an older gen and has touch screen. I think it depends on the options when you but it. Backlit keyboard, all generations have that if I am not mistaken.
