Where would you live? UK Passport & €500K Income....

Be very paranoid about any solution involving Italy. They're great at luring the credulous in with compelling tax breaks. Then they find a small piece of fine print which says it only works for EU citizens or [insert other restriction here]. And as any Italian will tell you, you don't win...

UK credit cards and/or bank accounts -> tax residence?

I'm curious if anyone has ever heard of possession of UK credit cards and/or bank accounts being used to argue that the holder should be considered UK tax resident, despite not qualifying for any other reason (i.e., spending less than 16 days, having very few ties, and so on, as per the SRT)...

Cyprus - taking crypto profits into USDC

Has it been established whether taking crypto profits into USDC is exempt from tax in Cyprus? Seems like crypto to fiat is taxable, but crypto to crypto is not. Just wondering whether the proposed legislation distinguishes stablecoins. Otherwise, taking profits into USDC and getting interest...

EU citizen/ hired in dubai/ nomad- tax structure

If you could dedicate a couple of months to Cyprus, you could get a tax residence certificate from there. You'd pay a bit more than Dubai. That said, because you're an Italian citizen/have been registered there at some time, you're presumably on the AdE's radar, so to speak, and quite a bit more...

Cyprus non-dom effective tax-rates (three different cases)

@baitmine, I think it may be worth including some calculation of accountancy (not cheap in Cyprus unfortunately). Most schemes (including 60-day tax residence) will also require the year-round maintenance of an apartment.

    EU Passport

So true. In the wake of Brexit popular sentiment is incredibly well-disposed toward the EU, above all because of freedom of movement. Le Pen, Salvini, Meloni and all the other brainless populists know there are no votes any more in talking about leaving.

    EU Passport

On the other hand, for example, Croatia are practically begging to join the Schengen area and the response is always 'not yet'. I don't see an appetite for enlargement or intensification of any kind at the moment.

    EU Passport

The problem is that they had a long time to think of this and no-one could ideate a working Brexit which did not collapse at the first hurdle -- Ireland. By that standard (i.e. not needing to make contact with reality) Marxism is also a good idea.

    EU Passport

The only thing Boris has electorally is Brexit. That’s why they keep up the tedious sabre-rattling over the Irish protocol, turning back migrant boats from France, etc. Perpetual culture war. And it’s lethal for Labour to touch the issue of Brexit right now. Things could (must?) change, but I’m...

Best country for a freelancer / digital nomad post-covid

Germany is as aggressive as they come. Plenty of Germans have moved to Cyprus without issue. Are you possibly confusing the concept of 'non-dom' with some particular length of time you need to spend in Cyprus? If you spend over 183 days in Cyprus and meticulously eliminate all ties with your...

    Non-dom resident status Cyprus

A big fat Nope. The nondom exemption lasts 17 years.

    Cryprus non dom status

This works as far as Cyprus is concerned. The problem is when Belgium come knocking and say to Cyprus, 'This guy has all his ties/home/girlfriend in Belgium. He spends 150 days there. But he's trying to persuade us he should pay tax to you on the strength of 60 days in Cyprus.' This is why you...

    Cryprus non dom status

Seems like you are mixing many things. If you're not an EU citizen, you'll have to apply for some kind of visa in order to stay for more than 90 days out of every 180, which is presumably where this max of 180 has been plucked from. It has nothing to do with non-dom which CyprusLaw explained...

    Cryprus non dom status

Take a look at the official Cyprus application form for this status. You can see the requirements there. Spending 60 days in Cyprus and <183 days elsewhere is only one of the criteria. The biggest question is whether Belgium will consider you tax-resident on the basis of spending the most time...
