How would you invest €50k right now?

Vodafone, I don't see them going anymore down, but they pay 10% dividend. But as always, you should diversify and not put all your 50k in that.

    Cross-checked tax residency

As long as you don't register yourself with local authorities they won't have a trace of you, well in most cases. Many countries in the EU want to get your local tax number in order to open a bank account or even rent a property.

    problem open UK bank

I use Kredit Karma, no need for a bank card at all with them, I don't know about the others. But they will check that your IP address is from the UK, if not, you won't be able to create an account/check your credit score with them. UK residence is irrelevant, if you have a presence here...

    problem open UK bank

Of course you can. I did. They will check your credit score/history but if you just moved in they will still let you open a bank account. They won't give you a loan that's all, at least for a little while.

Each country in Europe has different rules when it comes to opening bank accounts, in Ireland you need a PPS number (Irish tax ID), in Belgium you need to be registered with the commune so you have a local resident card and so on...welcome to Europe. Just adapt to whatever they want
