Experiences from Greeks having companies abroad

@Sols, and this brings me the question: Would a nominee director really help me? Does he appear anywhere? He signs some papers? Is there some superficial check from the authorities that he can pass?
Not all nominee directors are the same, so it's hard to say for sure. As a general rule, the more the director does, the better.

Fundamentally, the director will appear in public company registers in Romania and will be authorised to sign agreement for the company.

For a local director to have any chance of being meaningful, the director is normally the only signatory on the bank account, the one to who signs agreements on behalf of the company, and the only admin user for any PayPal accounts or other payment processing accounts. The person should be as close to a real CEO of a small company as possible.

Tax authorities know about nominee directors and might still claim that you are in control. If that happens, you might have to go fight in a court.
