Is it possible to buy and own a domain name anonymously? For example there are some providers that accept bitcoin. Are there any other ways to do it?

And for the domain owner's information, could an owner put some fake information? (Apart from an email address they have access to if they need to be contacted for any domain disputes.) There's an inherent risk in putting fake info there in that you could lose your domain if the domain is contested, but let's assume it's a risk you're willing to take.

Can you recommend any domain name providers that you've worked with that would be good for specifically this purpose?

Many of the domain providers like name.com have a service to hide the owner of a domain name. Honestly you can simply find a random address somewhere and put it on the domain it doesn't matter at all, have done that thel ast 10 years.

If you put fake information in the contact details, what if they need to contact you for anything, like a domain dispute or anything else? How have you dealt with that in your domains the last 10 years?

How did you pay for these domain names? I'm assuming not a credit card, as that could be tied to you.

Buying a domain name with fake address is very easy. The problem with domain registration is not about someone finding you out. It is that your domain will be taken down if they find out that you are violating their rules.

Buy with a VCC and use fake credentials and login from anonymous IPs and you should be fine.
