Here the story.

A buyer from 2 years ago opened a case not for not receiving the goods but for unauthorised transaction!

You have received a case
What's happening with this case?
The buyer stated that they did not make this purchase.
Until this case is closed, we have put a temporary hold on the transaction amount.
This transaction is eligible for Seller Protection. Log in to your PayPal account and go to the Resolution Center to provide any information you might have by 1 May 2025 to help us resolve this case.
If you've already shipped the merchandise, let us know which shipping company you used, and provide the tracking information.

I sent PayPal the information including the tracking number of the shipment which was correctly delivered.

PayPal closed the case in the buyer’s favour saying the tracking showed nothing online!

I called them and explained that no courier keeps online trackings from years ago, I also sent them screenshots of my Post profile showing the parcel was delivered and a certified email from the Post that confirmed this. It was useless!

Thank you for your cooperation.
We've reviewed the additional information you provided regarding the claim below.
We were unable to grant your appeal with the information you provided.
We made this decision based on the guidelines outlined in our User Agreement and after careful consideration of all available materials provided. Because we were unable to grant your appeal we have not changed the outcome of this case.

So be very careful, a 180 days protection period can easily become 2 or even 5 years in some cases if the buyer uses the unauthorised transaction escamotage, as that apparently compares to what can be done with the banks, unauthorised transactions are protected further. At that point PayPal intervenes asking for shipping proof that you may not be able to provide after such a long time and/or you’ll find an id!ot that will close in the buyer’s favour even without checking further proof. I recommend using PayPal with the buyer’s protection only with people/countries you trust.

PayPal is a really poor service; no one actually reviews what you send back or anything else. They just send automated responses, that’s the only way they can keep costs down with their so-called non-existent customer support. I’m almost certain their entire support is run by AI software, supplemented by students and young people working there after school.

PayPal is toxic for small and medium-sized businesses that don’t have the resources to knock on PayPal’s administration door when something goes wrong. I’m thinking of companies like Amazon, Boozt, etc.
