Hi all,
Is anybody here familiar with the 5C regime in Greece?
Broadly, it allows for a tax exemption on 50% of your active income if you become a tax resident in GR and fulfill a number of requirements.
I have spoken to several advisors but have received contradictory information regarding the income I'd receive from clients outside Greece. Two versions:
1. Some tell me you can register and operate as a freelance in Greece and the income you receive from clients outside will qualify for the 50% exemption.
2. Others however have warned that I would have to create a company in Greece and use it to invoice my foreign clients, then pay myself director fees from the company. This so that my income as a director is generated by a Greek entity, which is required for the income to qualify for the tax exemption.
Anyone know about this? I'd also be very interested in hearing from people that have recently moved to Greece and applied for the 5C regime.
Thank you
