Argentina is planning to launch a CBI program in 2025

The government in Argentina is trying to launch a Citizenship By Investment program, here is a quick scheme of what we know:

My personal take on this CBI:

While being expensive as a CBI compared to others around the world, Argentinian Citizenship offers a better passport compared to the Turkish passport or some Caribbean passports.
It is difficult to match the Malta CBI program (that is currently under attack by the EU), but it is a solid alternative of a passport to have.

What are your thoughts?

I think we need to wait for the government decree to pass, but it is something to keep an eye on.

I think you can safely stop thinking about this program and simply forget about it.

If the law ever passes, which is anything from sure, it will go into the category of North Macedonia and others, that are irrelevant.

I think one part of the problem is that there is no real approved project. And then, the agents selling it will all try to persuade you (with valid reason) to invest into another program in other countries.

Besides that, I think if you really want North Macedonian citizenship, there are enough ways to get it with acceptable effort.

You can already naturalise after 2 years in Argentina? Unless, like Portugal, they count the days having the residency permit as "residence". If it included Real Estate and no residency requirements, it would become hugely popular, but with business investment at 500k in a country which will just seize the money if the left get back in? It's risky.

This is just a money grab. You can get this for free now, after living there for 2 years.

It’s a very good passport compared to Turkey for a small increase in investment, and Argentina is vastly more desirable as an investment location, has a much higher quality of life compared to the utter squalor of Istanbul, fewer earthquakes, you get Mercosur, the women are far more attractive, and the Argentines I’ve met are not complete assholes unlike many of the Turks. Do you trust Argentina’s government? Milei won’t be there forever. That is your next question.

The North Macedonian citizenship “program” was started by companies which lost in the citizenship tender in Montenegro. They thought that I have a good contact within the government is enough, while it was not - only promises. There were two investment funds and the so-called agents warned applicants that they will not receive anything back, making it practically a donation based one. The “agents” (I put in brackets as there was no tender at all and no documentation of how they were chosen) filed the applications but no passports were issued at all. Complete mess and rubbish, with the ECJ ruling against Malta I do not think it will be restarted again
