Belarus Baby

Regarding personal safety I think Baltic states are as much safe as Belarus (criminals either move to Western Europe due to possible heavy jail sentences at home in subhuman conditions, or they kill each other within the same family after getting drunk). There’s no rule of law in Belarus , thus a foreigner should never assume his property is his property indeed.

well western democracy and dictatorship are not very different
once in 4 years you can vote for one of the two candidates already prepared for you (in the case of USA)
you can complain on twitter - which nobody cares about
you can attend a rally - which nobody cares about
you are as helpless as people in China or other country of this type
There is no big difference

I spent some time in Belarus. The country is one of the safest countries I have been to. In that regard, it is amazing. But since the demonstrations the country has become much more boring. A lot of people left. The official population numbers are not accurate. But for some, this calmness can bring something to life. Even in Minsk in the center it is very calm most days. English is much more common here than in Russia, especially with the younger generation but you would preferably need to learn Russian eventually. Belarusian is out of the question as not even the locals use it. Only used as formality for some government papers as Latin is used in medicine.

fair trial in western countries ?Ha ha good joke.....Go work against the establishment and you will see how fair it is.Or ask the people from western countries in Guantanamo how fair the trial was and what their countries did to get them out of this s**t.
I was brainwashed like majority western people how great the country is.Now being older having lived in diffrent countries and even in ex communist ones i can tell you todays western countries are way worse than ex communist countries.
Expecially the citizens of western countries seems to get more and more into total stupidity.
I sit in eastern europe because of my children because what is happening in germany is a total joke.
Her no mask,no propaganda on LGBT or vaccination,Freedom to teach in home if you wish etc.
And in germany you have total war against children indoctrinating them with total BS and teaching them total BS making their ability to compete against children of other countries nearly impossible.

About belarus i have a friend there who opened a big blockchain company there a few years back in their special zone where you have not to pay taxes for a longer period.
Since they work with blockchain and get mainly paid via crypto they don't feel a big diffrence other than that coworking with western companies are a burden now.
However belarus will be integrated into the russian market econemy which could benefit a lot in longterm.
Belarus has a lot of great programers.

:p This is the correct answer! When you know, you know! This man has gone through the human meat grinder. ;) I recognize my fellow man.

Look up the joke about the difference between theory and practice discussed between son and father.

my 2 cent about Belarus: my family and friends live in both Minsk and Gomel (city on the east), I spent a few months in each city back in 2012 and 2014, but didn't visit since then. The country is clean and friendly, very safe in terms of personal safety since the regime is a "police regime" so all crime was eradicated at all levels in the last 20 years (except the 'top' group themselves of course rof/% the 'authorized crime' police regime who can do whatever they want with whoever they want). So unless you get in trouble with the police/law things are good. The cities are very nice, convenient, cheap, tasty food, pretty girls, green/clean/spacious streets. It's a bit sad, that economic and political situation is in garbage, but the population of people (who survived the 'cleansing' by the police state over 20 years smi(&%) are very nice overall, I communicated a lot with locals, both while living there, dating, and while living abroad (so many Belarussians are moving abroad for work, some permanently, some temporarily), it's a good country and good people. Not much there is "fair" since it's impossible to oppose/challenge the government at any level, so they either must fully obey all rules, or risk to get in big trouble. My family and friends who stay, like it there, and the ones who didn't liked it 'as much', have left, and it was easy to leave actually, there are many options. Everyone obviously is waiting for the 'nature to take its course' for when current regime could be replaced, but I actually disagree with that a bit, since despite the 'big boss' did many mistakes over his 30 years in power, it could've been worse (look at Russia where did they end up, and Ukraine even without the war was not the best place [half of our family are in Ukraine and I also spent time there, on a 'month here month there' visits, so I talk only from personal experience, not from rumors, and omg if I was to chose where to live back then 10-15 years ago or today, I'd chose Belarus over Ukraine or Russia any day, 100%] )

And about the dictatorship vs democracy, it's such an interesting question really. Look at Argentina, the 100% inflation democracy doh948"" or Greece/Turkey, unemployment, crisis, inflation, it's not as simple as 'dictatorship'=bad, 'democracy'=good, when people in the 'democracy' for example are corrupt af, is it good?. oh btw, do you know what the Ukrainians are fighting for and defending so fiercely at the moment? it's their right to receive the goddamn 50$/month pension when they're 60rof/% but at least in a democratic state! (one of my uncles just got to pension age last year and we laughed about what exactly we're defending so fiercely like it's golden rivers all around awe¤""% , we calculated that he paid in total around 900k$ in taxes during just last 30 years, and it's kinda funny to get a 50$/month [spit in a face] rate which almost equals the bamboo-house Thai pensions which are at ~30$/mo, but Thais did not pay any taxes at all since they've never hit the threshold to get taxed, below 350$/mo salaries are exempt, and above 350$ it only starts with 5% tax, majority of 'normie' Thais are in 0%-10% brackets). I'm fine with dictatorship as form of government, Belarussian version was quite good until the Boss got older and started to hold for his life, to the throne. But he had no choice, the new gvmt would jail him, the 'police state' if becomes democratic for real, has such a pile of activity to get jailed for, that all top and middle layers will go kaput. why would they let it happen? they'll hold for dear life, without a bloody revolution they won't let go of power, and I believe it's not just about the 10-20 people at the very top, also all the 'forces' who are enforcement arm of the regime. My guess is that Belarus will stay the same for the next 20-30 years. People have no guns and are also very 'soft' (since all the 'hardened' ones are in police, one the other side of the barricades, getting paid well and love to remain being the 'top caste' in the country).

Belarus has a lot of great programers.
Guantanamo is a good example. And Julian Assange.

At least Bhakdi wasn't prosecuted for that garbage claim of anti semitisim in Plon. So there is still some hope in the justice system at this level. Although it should never have reached the court.

Why you are afraid to mention your leader Alexander Lukashenko (a.k.a batka) :D
I don't say democracy is always good. There are also monarchies. In some cases it works better.
For some people dictatorship is better. If you are a friend of "regime".

I know people who had legitimate business in Belarus and raided by OMON , because it's foreign business and have competitors in Belarus ;)
I am not very familiar with law in Belarus. But I know for sure that they can even put you in jail if you are director of the company and you have clients in foreign countries who have debts for YOU. Yes, thats right , they can interpretate it as "mismanagement" of your company and it's criminal! :D

If you remain low profile, no business, just have some income like you are programmer I believe is not bad life. But if you do lots of business it can be very problematic ;)

Guys, what is this discussion about Cuba, North Korea, Belarus, now Russia cmon :D

The big diffrence in belarus is that most important and profitable companies are state owned which wealth is being distributed to the public expecially older people.
Western companies are lurking already for a long time to privatise them for a bargain and take away publics wealth.

This all wealth is not distributed to older people.
Most of wealth is ditributed to friends (closed circle) of regime. This all is public and well known who benefits from all of this.
All these people who benefit a lot of this even don't live in Russia, Belarus etc. All of them live in west and spend their fortune on luxury yachts, villas in Italy, France etc

Retirement age in Belarus is 63 so?
In Soviet Union women could retire at 55. For your note.
I think this website has some russian trolls
Why is it that whenever someone criticizes the West and their globalist politicians, they get labeled a Russian troll? Everyone from Trump to Ron Paul to Farage to Le pen to Sebastian Kurz and so on gets this dishonest label, and even on this forum!

Can't you come up with anything better?

Comparing North Korea and Russia is a ridiculous comparison by the way.

What is ridiculous saying Belarus is dream country to do business and live. I don't see people flocking to Belarus or Russia on the border! I heard Belarus is even giving out citizenships who are "specialists" and willing to work in Belarus :D
