Best type of templates for ecommerce sites

Which do you think would be a best type of templates suitable for ecommerce websites. I am right now confused whether to choose from a ready made template or should I order a custom designed unique template for my site. Any valuable advice on this.

For an ecommerce site definately get your own template - and make sure its a respectable looking one. I know as a consumer I'm a lot less likely to buy from an online store which looks bad, in the same way I'm unlikely to walk into a store that looks bad. I also think a simple, clutter free design is best.
