Canadian Banking options

For investments and limited operational activity I recommend Citè Gestion. Pm me for an introduction (I earn no commissions from it, maybe a Christmas gift if I’m lucky).
I will when I return to Zug, CH. Business traveling now. ;)

Newzeeland , New Zealand banking system is one of the safest and most stable in the world
Which banks in New Zealand?

I just rarely forget anything... and banking in a country with advanced democracy and no freedom where you don't have to break the law or t&c to get your account frozen is not my cup of tea
Yes... After The Freedom Convoy case my good perception of contemporary Canada (what had been already getting worse) came to the end... :( :( :(

I understand, it was an unprecedented measure in unprecedented times.

Having an account frozen without any court notice is something surely concerning but as a non resident i can't foresee any reason for freezing an account.

Well, it does not concern only account(s) freezing. In this case, Trudeau's government clearly violated some fundamental freedoms and constitutional rights what is IMO unacceptable, regardless of fact whether the protesters were right, wrong or misled in rem / on the merits.
No “unprecedented times” can justify this, unless we resign from the fundamental principles that the Canadian society claims to be build on. This did not happen in China neither in Russia.
Yes, I admit that my perception, as the (at least the former) Canadian, say, half-resident, can be specific.
I don't want to argue about this and would be great if you were right but I'm not buying stories about unprecedented circumstances....
Well, my opinion above. Probably we are close...

Man, I understand and I don't want to justify what he did.

Neither in North Korea :)

The only point i'm making about Canadian banks is that non-resident accounts weren't frozen.

You could argue that if they froze accounts for residents they could do it also for non-residents but in all honesty the only event i can foresee where a non-resident bank account is frozen is Canada going bankrupt.

I understand you, too, hopefully.

Yes, this is the aspect that I see. They simply crossed over Rubicon (or Acheron/Styx, more likely)...
but in all honesty the only event i can foresee where a non-resident bank account is frozen is Canada going bankrupt.
Well, I wish you were right.
