Cyprus 60 day tax status for non-EU nationals

Hi all,

I live in Cyprus and have run into a rule for the 60 day rule where my accountant can't get me the status because I am required to hold office in a Cypriot company, and it's considered a "job" where I am living in Cyprus on a Visitor's Visa where I am not allowed to work.

Anyone have experience with this? Is the tax dept and immigration connected? Can I not just be director of my CY company (that really isnt used), show the paperwork to the tax authority, and then NOT show that to immigration authority? Or are they connected?

I heard that the tax dept and immigration may talk or share info, whereby if I live in Cyprus on a visitor visa and then also am director of a Cypriot company, they may either not give me the 60 day tax status, they may cancel my visitor permit, or both.

I know I can just do 183 days but I like to travel alot and not be in one location too long.

Thank you for your help!
