Approximetely 54,538 companies -registered in Cyprus - have until today paid the special fee of 350 euro each, which was voted late August by the House of Representatives as part of the government's first economic package for fiscal consolidation.

The Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver Spyros Kokkinos, said that state revenue so far from the imposition of the special fee reaches 19.08 million euro.

He also said that the deadline for the payment of the special fee expires today (Monday midnight).

Kokkinos expressed the view that the number of companies which have paid the special fee will increase since some of today's payments have not yet been registered in the Department's computer system, while some companies are expected to pay the annual fee online.
