Anyone here obtained a secondary EU passport?

I'm a UK passport holder. Running into a few issues with 90/180 rule and it's not always easy to navigate Schengen Entry/Exit without being stamped. And will become virtually impossible assuming 2022 sees the launch of a fully automated scanning with ETIAS. I'm obviously aware you can do 3 months Schengen, 3 months Ukraine or whatever, but there are a couple of Schengen countries I spend the majority of time in.

Montenegro scheme closes this year, anyone invested in it? I assume they may join the EU by 2025 but it's a bit of a punt. Although they are closing it due to EU pressure.

Forget Montenegro in the EU in 2025, there is absolutely no way. These things take forever and there is no appetite for enlargement at the moment. It will be 10-15 years until anyone new will join.

If you are British try to find an Irish ancestor. That’s your best chance imo (without moving).

The question is, do you really want a german passport nowadays

Good question. Personally no. But I can see UK people who didn't support brexit wanting to keep their options open. One of the only good thing that came out of EU was free movement.

Montenegro is more or less a failed program and is shutting down this year. The only official program is Malta for a second passport from EU. There are also a few EU programs available off-market, however I will not list them here.

If you are looking to get EU access only, you can better apply for one of the golden visa programs and become an EU resident. Best bet would be Portugal in your case, very popular with British nationals.

Brexit what a mess :(. It was all handled by UK like a baseball catcher with no fingers.
Yeah, I believe leaving was a good idea as it presented the last chance for the UK to become competitive again, lower corp taxes, get the borders in order and become an economic hotbed. Instead, the reverse has happened so far.

EU is going to break anyway into parts. So it will also depend which part you want to stay.
I too can see the EU falling to bits. As an 'organisation' it's a complete failure. But putting a time frame on that happening is tricky. Won't be overnight. "things take longer to happen than you think they will, and then they happen faster than you thought they could"

I think this what everyone thought initially even me. But they totally screwed it up sadly. Now they are too ashamed to go back and renegotiate the exit agreement. UK is gonna become a much poorer country in the future as its a welfare state at its core.

I don't see them being able to sort it out now either. It needed a Trump-like character to be done successfully IMO. Corp tax is going to 25%. 1.9 million workers are still furloughed (I wonder what happens when that ends in October lol). So it's only going to get worse. They'll be patting themselves on the back though for killing off plenty of old people over the last 18 months to reduce pension payouts.

UK left to keep its independance.UK is going to lose masivly economicly and will also lose its world reserve currency over next years.
However a common wealth passport will be worth a lot if you will pass through this transition

Next 2-3 years.
You can already see east european countries preparing to exit and preparing their people with propaganda about the EU.The exit was planned in 2015 by Stratfor to make sure Russia and Germany would never join forces against US so they create the so called "coridore sanitare" which is an old Pilsudski plan to have control from north east sea to middlesea .
Under polands leadership the new union is already being formed under the name "unia nadmorze"

Been tried -> Visegrad group. Germany torpedoed it.

The UK doesn't have the world reserve currency. It's the dollar, I believe that could happen.

The only thing Boris has electorally is Brexit. That’s why they keep up the tedious sabre-rattling over the Irish protocol, turning back migrant boats from France, etc. Perpetual culture war. And it’s lethal for Labour to touch the issue of Brexit right now. Things could (must?) change, but I’m inclined to think there has to be a LOT more pain because of the pride and world-historical levels of stupidity certain voters in Britain have displayed.

The problem is that they had a long time to think of this and no-one could ideate a working Brexit which did not collapse at the first hurdle -- Ireland. By that standard (i.e. not needing to make contact with reality) Marxism is also a good idea.

do you mean the Three Seas Initiative? they need cash for that, billions of euros, which only germany and USA have but seems like USA only wants to provide moral support.

Still you can apply till the end of the year, it gives Schengen visa-free travel so far and nobody has any objection to Montenegro joining the EU in 2025. Macron objected to North Macedonia and Albania but intentionally left out Montenegro as it is they are approved

They are not programs, but bribes to well-connected politicians and lawyers
