Hi!
I am a non-domiciled citizen in the UK, due to some investments Im now considering using my non-dom status to avoid paying tax in the UK an just pay the flat rate of £60k which would be ok. The only downfall is that I have been in the UK for 14 years and I only have a year left to be considered deemed domiciled.

Option 1 would be to lie and say I came to the UK at a later point, not sure if they could proof I was a tax resident back then as I was actually a student and not even paying tax....
Option 2 I would open residency in Dubai but still live in UK. Danger that Im found out to be living here for over 120 days (my only tie to the uk is that I was here on last 2 tax years)
Option 3 is of course I move abroad for good or pay the tax in UK.

I guess my question is to any experience on this forum regarding HMRC really investigating how long you stay in the country. Thank you

Better you talk to a good uk tax advisor. I can recommend one who used to be a HMRC inspector.
