STEP 1: DIAMOND INTRODUCTION

Rough diamond come from different countries I will talk about the one I’m familiar with so Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry.
Most of diamond in west Africa goes from a country to another especially between Guinea - Sierra Leone - Liberia.

They have very nice Color and quality most of them used for jewelry.

Once the rough diamond is mined usually artisanal way it exported to city like Antwerp / Dubai / Tel Aviv / Mumbai / New York / Hong Kong

Price from Mine to Market can double or triple or times 10 according to the quality of the stone.

I will focus later on how does the artisanal mining work.
Once the rough is sent to Diamond hub they are cut and polished there. Once ready they are sold as wholesale price with a discounted price from RAPAPORT.

RAPAPORT is the price guide for polished diamond. it changes every Friday.

Once polished diamond are sold they are either mounted in jewelry or sold individually to customer.

So people doing the all process benefit the most from the business exemple of company that mine diamond and sell it to end customer (Al Rosa, De beers)
