Monaco resdient without 500k EUR

There are nice spas to relax on a weekend.
Nothing beats the Thermes Marins. Or do you refer to those nice gay spas in Milan? smi(&%
How is the pollution in Dubai and Bangkok?
Not good.
Geneva is the biggest boring city that i saw in my life.
Genova is among the most horrible Italian cities. I mean, nobody goes to Genova unless for boarding a ferry boat or taking delivery of a container.

Born in Barcelona you will be ok in Genova, Nice etc :D :D :D
I like weekends in Barcelona. Good hotels, restaurants, sightseeing etc. Also good strippers. None of this can be found in Genova.

I was only in Genoa a couple of times. And well, it is a different place from what is around. You are probably right. But hey, I was just saying that there are options to avoid getting bored if what you want is something different from what you have in Monaco.

It is believed that Monaco is a horrible place to live because it is small, it has traffic and things like that, and I don't see it any different from living in other places.

It is not very different from living in Marbella, for example. Of course, you have to like that lifestyle.

What I want to say, of course I prefer to live in other cities than in Monaco. If I were in another stage of my life.

Now living somewhere else in Europe means high taxes.

Out of curiosity @JohnnyDoe , which city would you live in or which one do you consider the most optimal according to your tastes and preferences?

You could go to Sanremo, it’s near and you have the casino and the sea smi(&%
And top level entertainment at the Ariston theater for a week every February smi(&%smi(&%smi(&%

Monaco is perfectly fine if you like a police state and you live in the Prince Castle - or at least in one of the few detached houses. For the price of a small apartment you can buy a decent mansion with your own beach in the Caribbean and still have money left to travel by plane to London, NY, Miami or Madrid whenever you like.

If you are a Spanish speaker, why don’t you consider the Dominican Republic?

Personally, I wouldn’t live in any city even if you paid me. I’m a countryman who enjoys cutting his own lawn, grow fruits and veggies and take care of animals. Closest neighbor has to be at least 1km far.

Sanremo is definitely among the places to spend many weekends.

The Dominican Republic was among my options for a long time, because it also has territorial taxes (I think so).

However, I put that idea out of my head for several reasons:

- High crime rates. I am a person who likes to go out to dinner, take a walk or play sports outdoors, and I don't know if the Dominican Republic is the safest. I only know it from being on vacation as a teenager in Punta Cana at one of those all-inclusive resorts. But I understand that is a bubble.

- It's very far from my family. I like to spend a weekend with my family in Barcelona from time to time. It is obvious that I can travel but they should be trips of longer duration, instead of weekends.

- Hurricane season. I'm probably exaggerating because I've never experienced a hurricane up close. But the idea terrifies me. Just thinking about a hurricane would make me take a flight to the safest possible destination. But as I say, these are situations that I have never experienced, they are probably not that dangerous.

- The damn mosquitoes in the Caribbean. When I was in Punta Cana, I remember them flying towards me making a noise like they were surface-to-air missiles.

Although there are also many other things that I like, as you already mentioned.

Many? How can you spend “many” weekends in Sanremo? Is there something going on there that I’m not aware of?

Yes

Urban legend. Stay away from a couple of areas in Santo Domingo, Boca Chica, and wherever you see many Italians and you will be fine. Also don’t mess with local girls.

You can do all that and more in Santo Domingo, or in smaller cities if you prefer like Cabarete or Las Terrenas.

Punta Cana is not a real place.

Daily flights from Madrid are convenient, but yes you have to spend many hours on the plane.

No hurricanes in the DR. And anyway if a house is well built and with decent elevation (the real danger is the rising sea level) you will be safe in any Caribbean Island. It’s not that at 400kmh (cat 5 hurricane) a concrete house is disintegrated.
- The damn mosquitoes in the Caribbean. When I was in Punta Cana, I remember them flying towards me making a noise like they were surface-to-air missiles.
Some people are eaten alive, others are ignored by mosquitoes (no-see-ums). Who knows why. They can be managed though with natural remedies. Something you can’t do with an annoying neighbor, and things can go really nasty with neighbors (see the Nygard saga in Lyford Cay, Nassau).

What do you mean I stay away from local girls?

I can more than agree lol
I have been to Sanremo. The first thing I have been tried to be scammed/robbed there

What exactly happened to you?

You should be ready to spend almost all your weekdays and weekends in Monaco. Besides short trips to some luxury hotels in Italy/France/Switzerland

But why? I can travel a lot to other places. I mean, UK 3 hours, Spain 1-2 hours, Greece 3 hours, Turkey 4, Eastern Europe 3-4.

they often come with the full package of family, relatives and friends ready to scam the gringo.

Oh i got it. I have girlfriend and we aren't in open relationship, so I don't think she would be very happy seeing hordes of big asses around me. rof/% rof/% rof/%

100% this! smi(&% This applies to ALL of Latin America...and I'm speaking out of experience. stupi#21
Although frankly, I shouldn't be surprised...my relatives in Southern Europe (France and lower) will eventually do the same thing, with "pride" and in a passive-aggressive manner

lol - I was attending the UN for a week or so years ago, our home over that way was a 4/6 hr jaunt (drive) so opted to stay in a place just outside Geneva, but our staff flew in and wanted to stay closer so stayed in Geneva city itself - I never heard the end of it, United Nations was on the streets of Geneva not Palais

Crime, fighting and just dirty.

Lausanne etc all used to be nice but when I was last in Europe that was falling into de-civilization also.

Fortunately on the alps the migration kinda stopped - must have been too cold.

Have you considered Andorra?
I know they have 10% tax, but with passive residence program you can still avoid it

Why 10% in a village in the mountains is better than Monaco at 0%? Don't sound smart decision.

In fact, is 14.5%. Corporate tax + dividends. And Andorra has CFC rules.

If people is crying because Monaco is boring, Andorra can't be an option. Just people who like milking cows go to Andorra.

It's almost as if it's subjective and up to personal preference. o_O Some people prefer the vapid Monaco. Some people prefer the serene, cow-milking Andorra. I heard some people prefer even stranger things, like big busy cities, quaint little towns, wild jungles, deep forests, small islands, deserts, the open seas, and other crazy things.

I say — no! Only my opinion is valid.

Nothin beats Monaco in EU... Just go for it. Even better is to live 6 months in Monaco during summer and 6 months in warmer country during winter.
