Hello!

Been a long time lurker and really appreciate all the info here.

Anyway, since almost six months Bankera has frozen my personal and business account. Can’t do anything unfortunately.

In the meantime I will receive soon an amount of +-150k-200k euro, but with how Bankera has handled everything my trust in them has gone to the lowest point.

Don’t get me wrong I really really liked them, they were always nice and helpful and the service and card usage was perfect. I had not in 1 country any hassle, everything was perfect.

Anyway, I am looking now for a new personal emi/bank. A few important things:
  • No hardcore kyc (passport + proof of address)
  • My money is safe there
  • No insane “frozen money” issues
  • Not every two months another hardcore kyc compliance “source of wealth” questions
  • The 150k-200k will be from a legal sale of real estate and the money will be transferred from an official EU notary
  • I am a EU citizen (western europe), resident in another EU country
  • Quick opening without hassle and no gazillion $ fee to open and then play roulette and pray it opens.

Any tips, helpful advice etc. are welcome and much appreciated!

Thanks for taking your time to read

Since you are an EU resident try some digital European banks like Openbank?

Anyway, for a physical real estate sale, I feel like you are much better off going and opening a physical bank account IRL.
Maybe Amnis Treasury?
I think you have to have a long-term running business account with them to get proposed personal.

You need to go to a local bank with that amount coming in. You need to explain to the bank that you will receive 150 - 200K euro otherwise all will freeze the account you are new to them.

That said, in the past I contacted Wise before I opened an account, and told them how it will be and I never had a slightest problem with them, but I won't relay on it today, they are bigger than ever.

With an EU passport and as an EU resident you have endless possibilities even locally unless your a non-dom.

Basically any bank in EU will take you in short as your considered low risk including source of funds coming from EU Notary.

Thank you, yeah I prefer to not use the loc banks. They are a bit… “different” and I’m being very polite here

Why not go the crypto way and receive the money in BTC, USDT or so ?
I don’t think the notary or bank of the person buying the real estate would do that. And perhaps it’s too volatile to be honest. Plus if I ever want to use it in other investments I want it to be and stay clean without any other bank having me jump through 300 hoops explaining the crypto to money transfers.

Ah ok thanks. I didn’t know I could open an account in any other EU country. I thought I had to stick where I reside, thanks!
