Hello,

I am a director of a non VAT registered UK ltd company.

My question is, if I want to buy a laptop, do I need to pay the tax for it? Do I tell the seller that I want an invoice and not a receipt and simply inform him that I don't pay tax?

Does anyone know if that's possible? I have found a laptop that costs around 1.300 without tax and it's 1.600 with tax.

Thank you for your help,

Dominic

If you are not registered for VAT, you must pay the VAT.

Depending on what other expenses you have and the nature of your business, you might be able to claim the cost as an expense to reduce your tax burden. Speak with your accountant.
