I am one of those few who started planning early, and was laughed at more often. But seriously, it does make a difference. I think compounding effects are felt only later and initially it does seem an uphill task. Of course, our income in later years of our service is much higher, and therefore, it is easy to cover up that deficit of initial years. So it does look advisable to enjoy the monies in the initial stages. But I dont take chances. I certainly hope I am not one of the few. At later stage, if for some reason, I am unable to save, then it is a situation that has no remedy! Even if a small amount can be set aside in the initial stages, however small, it is preferable to nothing at all.
