I feel that I'm paying too much taxes to Indonesian taxmen :) The Govt, as you know, is adopting US-like worldwide income tax policies (unless I live at another countries for at least 183 days a year). My income is 100% outside Indonesia, mainly the US and UK. And I use Paypal for 99% of my transaction. I'm a freelancer in the eyes of the laws.

Now, I understand that I may be able to open an account in Cyprus, etc. but I would still need to open a bank account or create a company that would work well with Paypal, as they validate PoA, billing statement address, etc. Setting up a company offshore comes to my mind.

Any suggestions on how I can do this effectively?

It depends on what you need the company for later on. Hong Kong and Cyprus are too great location that can help you with company formation, bank account and paypal.
