UAE Visa type with my own FZ company - employment or investor visa?

I have setup my own FZ company.

Does it matter if I get myself:

An employment visa (ie, as the employee/manager of my own company)

Or

An investor visa.

Both give 3 years residency and with the free one I am working with the investor designation costs 1k and extra, so my question is is there any reason to get the investor designation or can I just get residency as the employee of my own company?
