UK vote to scrap non-dom status unsuccessful and millionaires flee UK anyway

I think the voters could change
Don't put your future on that, it's not going to end well

They tried. Lasted 40 days, almost tanked the pension funds and the pound. You can not build a democratic Singapore, there are too many socialists and open communists in the UK and soon they will have a majority in the parliament. So trust my word, in 1-2 years there will be general election, Labour will win and they will abolish non-dom, raise taxes for corporations and "rich" people alike, print money to cover the holes in the budget and run the country to the ground. In 5-10 years they will again lose to Conservatives and the cycle continued.
In my opinion it lasted 40 days because for some reason no one there imagined at some point that saying they will reduce taxes while increasing government spending when the world was on a post covid phase and almost after a war started was not going to send a bad message

Generally right ideas, but absolutely disastrous timing. They should've tried this approach in 2017-2018 just after Brexit, but no - they tried to get an "agreement" which was never on the table because Brussel will never let a huge offshore exist just across the channel. So they failed both times - they failed to get a "soft" Brexit and they lost the window of opportunity to make UK "Singapore on Thames".
It will go into history books as an example of how inept politicians can ruin otherwise successful country.
