Wise to move primary listing to the U.S. in blow to London stock exchange

I am a shareholder (Nothing special, just a few shares that Wise gave away symbolically to the very first customers).

I received an email yesterday (which I've quoted below) in which they more or less begged to approve this proposal.

I also wonder why they find it interesting to make this choice. Apparently they have big plans for the future. But being listed on the American stock exchange seems more than enough to me.

Dear Wise Owner

Following our announcement on 5 June regarding our intention to dual list our shares in the US and the UK, we are pleased to announce that we have today published a circular outlining further details of our proposal, which the Board is unanimously recommending shareholders vote in favour of. You can find all relevant documents at our Owner Relations website.

Following a thorough review of the optimal listing structure for Wise, the Board firmly believes this proposal brings a number of strategic and capital markets benefits to Wise and our Owners, and best aligns with our long-term, ambitious vision, enabling us to accelerate our mission to become ‘the’ network for the world’s money and to continue creating long-term shareholder value.

In particular, we believe this proposal will broaden our investor base and boost trading liquidity in our shares, among many other advantages. We also expect it will enhance our profile in the US - our biggest market opportunity today - while helping us maintain the laser focus that has fuelled our growth to date.

As you are a valued Wise Owner, we invite you to a webinar where we will discuss the details of our proposal further. The webinar will take place on 17 July 2025 at 04:00pm BST; please use THIS link if you'd like to join us. You can send any questions you might have to *redacted* We’ll collate your questions and answer them during the webinar.
Thanks as ever for your continued support.

Best regards,

Martin
