BVI Company Registered in HK

Hi there

I read recently about a large company that had two separate companies - a BVI and a HK company. The BVI allegedly set up their bank account and also registered their business in HK.

does anyone know much about this? Any comments or feedback anyone can provide?

You can in Hong Kong like in most other countries register a local branch of a foreign company. You can also open a local bank account for a foreign company, although that is no longer easy in Hong Kong. It would be easier if the foreign company has a HK branch, but still more difficult than for a regular HK incorporated company.
