will the government of canada investigate someone even before they immigrate to canada to see if they have an offshore bank account? for example, lets say that someone wanted to immigrate to canada and just recently were given residence in that country, but prior to that would their government investigate someone to see if that individual who is coming over to canada has offshore bank accounts? does this make sense? or would actual reporting to the canada revenue agency occur only after someone has lived in the country for a while and only until then has decided to open offshore bank accounts? would a government investigate individuals to see whether or not they have undeclared offshore bank accounts? can someone please tell me. thank you.
