Is it wise to attempt a startup with the worlds economy in such a bad way Will the right type of business at the right time be wonderful or is any new startup doomed because of a situation that is out of their control?

What kind of business are you starting? Will it be an online business or will it be a brick-and-mortar type business? If it's online, at least you'll have lower start up costs than a regular business. As for the world recession, people are still buying things and services. You just need to find a specialty that you can dominate.

Your friends might believe you're getting crazy if you're going to start a business when people are being laid off from work. With the world's recession, nobody in his right senses would ever think of putting up a business. But if you look at it the other way, there are opportunities waiting to be tapped.

Times are tough however there certainly are plenty types of businesses which are recession proof. There are always products or services which people require even when a recession is going on.

I'm sure it is depend on your business, but no matter what you choose, there will never be such thing as the perfect time. There will always be the risk, and part of doing a business is to take a chance

It is quite risky at the moment depending on your business type. Your biz might bring in a great relief to many job-seekers but might also just slump like all other bizs, so just be careful.

interesting thread .. all the replies could be said regardless of the recessionary times we're in .. business will always be a crapshoot and due dilligence and a solid biz plan will always help to get things off the ground .. good or bad time is only relevant re the type of business you're looking at ..

however,an increasing amount of people are attempting to do something online.Computer is available to anybody,so it's not easy though the cost is not so high as the business in real world
