Hey guys, i'm a British and Irish (EU) citizen who resides in the UK. My wife is a US citizen with UK residency. We have a kid on the way too.

We're discussing the idea of moving away from the UK at some point next year and wanted to see if anyone could throw in some ideas of where to live. We've done the US, it's a comfy place to live but we're not ready to move back there any time soon. Ireland may be a good bet with the lower corporation taxes but i'm not sure how generous their personal tax system is and we're open to some better weather on the mainland of Europe. Is the Portuguese NHR worth looking into? I'm essentially a freelancer with a UK LTD company and most of my work comes out of the US. Does anyone have any experience with the private schools there?

Cheers.

Did you try

Malaysia does not impose tax on foreign income of Expat.
Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong are good option.

Here the list of country where foreign income of expat are tax free

That is suspended since last year. After Rejecting Up to 90% of Applications, Malaysia Freezes MM2H, Again - Investment Migration Insider

Same as Philippines, gone.
Panama will very soon also go unless you drop 200k in their real estate casino.
Singapore and HK are still closed, although HK could make sense for certain passport holders and be more tricky for others.
However, some islands opened up ranging from Carribean to Seychelles, Bali coming up with visa etc.

I'd go where you feel most comfortable depending on your life circumstance. You should also consider with your wife ;) depending on her taste choices can vary broadly.

Hey,

Have you taken into consideration Bulgaria? the corporate taxes are very low and the weather is quite nice :) If you move there and you are a freelancer you can even think to incorporate a company there.

Cheers!

With the ongoing consolidation of CRS, you will likely see a new international taxation of income to offset debt, so if only charged 4% for living in x Country your home country will charge 4% on top (similar to how the US does it), to continue the funding of big government wastage.

T's what i see coming.

Factor that in, EU aside from that likely a waste of time, they are in debt up to their eyeballs, and taxes will have to rise dramatically once they get out of the energy crisis.

Swiss usually a good place just released a 142 billion CHF loss on the central bank -> that will have to be absorbed by tax payers (i pay tax there - minor) and just received a emergency Canton tax...

Thailand is still ok on income earned overseas as long as brought in, in the next tax year, but they've fucked the economy big time, and debasing the currency -> political upheaval and economic collapse likely going to occur especially when so few of the citizens pay tax.

Bali looks ok but until you can own freehold (you can in Thailand under certain circumstances) I'd rule out putting any money into a black hole.

Eastern Europe if it calms down will be ideal (IMO), Caribbean also.

War is coming to the middle East -> rules that out.

East Africa (Kenya, Zanzibar) are great if you can handle the poverty and road conditions (experienced pot holes bigger than me)
