During the next couple of months, we would likely immigrate to the US and would likely want to retire in Panama.

Question is, I am a part-time trader, mostly crypto and stocks.
Can I open an offshore company, trade through the company, never withdraw anything for a nice nest egg?

The next question is if I am really doing good and want to stay in the US, can I withdraw a salary from the company and only pay personal tax based on the salary?

If there are any good financial / tax planners, please PM me as I of course want to do everything legally.

You can do whatever you want, but once you become a U.S. resident you owe tax on your worldwide income. Having such a set-up might help in terms of legal liability in the event of a lawsuit, but it will have no impact on your taxes and high yearly compliance costs for tax reporting purposes.

U.S. tax residents get no tax advantages from offshore companies while they live in the U.S. Otherwise, everyone would do it.

@GoldenFleece Thanks for the referrals; have you worked with either of them or both?
I took a look and it seems like Stewart Patton was more active years ago but is a small one man shop which has its advantages, whereas, the OnlineTaxman is a hub of specialists.

I know them both by reputation and by following their blogs and videos. If you just need simple U.S. tax filing help, instead of strategic tax planning and/or entity creation, there is also Greenback Tax Services for U.S. federal tax return preparation and bank account and FATCA reporting. It also consists of a hub of tax specialists.
