Relocating to Switzerland, where to open personal account?

I'm planning to relocate to Switzerland in the next 2 - 3 months. Since I know it is almost impossible to get a bank account there, I wonder where do I open a personal account?

Does someone has input for me which bank to try?

Online via the App – it’s easy!​

Have you closed all other apps running in the background and is your connection stable? Great! Then we can get started.
  1. Download the UBS Mobile Banking App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Confirm your identify via video call (have your ID or passport* to hand).
  3. Sign contracts online.
  4. Set up secure login via the Access App.
  5. Top up your prepaid card and get started right away.
*All documents must be final. This means, for example, that we do not accept any outstanding applications for a foreigner's identity card.

  • Minimum age: 15
  • Resident in Switzerland
  • Passport or ID card* from one of the following countries(PDF, 48 KB)
  • For students: Valid student ID
  • For foreigners: residence permit B, C, Ci or L
  • Smartphone with camera and iOS version 13 or higher or Android version 10 or higher
  • A stable internet connection
*All documents must be final. This means, for example, that we do not accept any outstanding applications for a foreigner's identity card.
