Hello,

As the title says, i would like to renew my passport without ever needing to go back to my country.

I like to live most of the year spending it in Asia as a tourist.

However, from what i understand, in order for me to renew my passport oversees, among the documents i need as a proof of residency is only the "Lease agreement".

If i book 1 month on an Airbnb:

  • Can the host provide me with a Lease agreement with my name, and address on it?
  • Is 1-month duration accepted with a lease agreement in the embassy for my passport renewal application?
Any advice on the matter would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you

Depends on the laws of the country of which you're a citizen.

Many only allow renewal of ordinary passport if you can prove residence there, but will issue an emergency passport. To prove residence, you're usually asked to show residence permit or other evidence that you're registered as a resident. Having a lease usually won't suffice, unless it's stamped by the immigration and/or tax office. Different rules in different places.

Just check with your country's embassy.
