Singapore personal bank account introducer?

@jkl197 somebody mentioned HSBC Singapore will probably do that.

Not sure if they need you to fly in but if you have an HSBC in your country I think HSBC Singapore will ask you to go there to verify your documents.

Try to install the app and see if it suits your needs.

I have been a customer of HSBC in another jurisdiction but I prefer to not bank with them this time, so this is not an option for me.
Yes, HSBC Singapore can be opened remotely.

It's also the cheapest bank in Singapore.

What I cannot reconcile is that I keep reading even on this forum about people who were able to open an account at OCBC remotely even for a company.
No idea, honestly. But why not to try Standard Chartered? Especially if you live in the country where they have a branch, your chances can be good. And they are very accustomed to remote onboarding, see Straight2Bank Onboarding Portal
(BTW, I consider them a good bank, really. Probably they would be my first option.)
In theory a personal account should be much easier to process .
Not necessarilly. It depends on a lot of factors.

thanks a lot guys, HSBC is a good bank in general, but for very personal reasons I dont like it
It's definitely not important, but neither I like them ;)

Even good old Andrew Henderson does not like them. I always wonder why.
It would seem that HSBC is focusing more on its Asian customers and actively avoiding (some) Western ones.

Additionally, HSBC is pulling out of the NZ market (and others) officially to focus on its Asian business, inofficially perhaps also because of the new banking regulations coming into force in NZ? All in all, this may explain why they are not too eager to - woke buzzword warning - "onboard" new customers from certain countries?

Does anybody here offer services to introduce people to open personal bank accounts in Singapore?

I would like to open one there + debit card. 50k USD initial deposit. Clean money, no crap going around it. Actually can show proof of funds.

Can do that without flying and without SG residency?

I currently hold citizenship and residency in a EU tax-raping country.

Moving to PH next January.

Honestly I'm open to consider other countries in Asia but not sure if it is possible to do that.
Do you have found any contacts or introducers to open an account in Singapore ?

Nope. I opened an account in the Philippines but I still would prefer to have one is Singapore for investment purposes.

If you have 100K or 150k USD you can try your luck, mostly if you fly there.

For a small dog like me with 50k/60k USD, I didn't find any luck, although I didn't visit Singapore.

In Philippines they pay almost nothing on USD deposits. I literally drool when I hear about US High Interest Savings Account.

I'm in Thailand now, and even here they have 5% on US deposits. But sadly can't open accounts here and with the new tax laws is not that attractive if you are not resident here

not clear you will get these rates as foreigner.
You can try dubai together with a visa or try with your philly papers for interactive brokers. Maybe swissquote will take you too. That should be good enough. Or try tiger brokers or boom (hk).

For Sing, you need more of the sweet dolla digits. After all Sing is home to kiasu and where this movie comes from:
Did you approach a Singapore based bank which has branch in Phillipines? Maybe your local contact there can help you for smth.

also hk not cheap. Over 150k or so should get you in the door, but its not sure.

Can you name a bank?
ABA, Acleda, Bred, Canadia, Maybank, PPC, Sathapana, Hattha to name a few. There are many more. Interest rates ranging between 5-8% depending on the term.

Like Jack mentioned, most banks want to see a minimum 6 month business visa, some will ask for more documents. Depends on the branch and bank officer. Although there are still sporadic reports of those being able to open accounts on tourist visa. Will require a KH mobile number.

When you have opened in PH, you have used a residency in PH too ? Do you have a long term visa ?

I'm Married with a filipina. As such I get 1 year tourist visas called "balikbayan visa" . With that I went to apply for ACR I-Card (their local Id for foreigners).

Banks are very anal there about the requirements and the common statement is that foreigners cannot open bank accounts.

I wouldn't recommend as all banks refused me as soon as they knew I had no ACR I-Card. They all said banks are open for residents only.

It took me a lot of BS story-telling to finally get the bank account. Deposited 60k USD.

It's a win because Philippines is a non-CRS country at the moment.

There's only one bank as far as I know that will take you in and it is know as the world's local bank and for laundering Mexican cartels money.

Thanks for the feedback, I had also understood that it was complicated to open at PH for non-reisdents.
