hello.. I will try to make this short.

I own a business account with Revolut and I did enough home work before depending on them as my main EMI service online,
at the first the Fintech looks like very promissing, they understand the need of market and service was great specially live chat option.

I don't know what makes them change their minds, for many reasons I might believe changing in leaderships or having a hidden agenda.

But from my experience with many of EMIs they simply don't survive for very long, some change their name like Leupay and some just go bankruptcy and lack of funds.

But also and most importantly the ownerships of these EMIs they just use the platforms to collet data and launder money.

Revolut is now just a one of them. massive crackdown of accounts for no specific reasons, Live chat turns from instant reply to days or even week to reply.

and the weirdest thing is they always reply with same txt (
Hello, Thank you for your answer. My colleague is out of office and will respond to you as soon as possible. Have a nice evening!, which raise a red flag.

maybe you can say, I'm a unique case loosing 20k EUR but I'm not, I have enough evidence that this is wild and hurt many other people, maybe you gonna be next!

my account was blocked for no reason, no alert, no email! once I asked them.. they request me to provide them with bunch of evidences for period btw 2018 until 2020
I sent them all docs and invoices needed with explications.

since they don't reply me immediately as they were before and the stuff is always out of office, it tooks for them 4 months to review my case
which I beleieve they didn't do properly. because they already made decision to shutdown XXX numbers of accounts for their own reasons.

anyway, I lost my money and I had to deliver my serivce to my clients without getting paid, I can confirm that Revolut stole my hard earning money.

I asked them to transfer money to another IBAN so I can continue business as usual, while they take a look into my account. but "My colleague is out of office" was the answer I always get.

I agree.. I trust them more than I should, but I had business with them for 2 years no problem whatsoever, until now I have no clue why I had to go through all this s**t.

I only wanted to get my money, loosing account was not a big deal for me and it will never be.

Finally, I was not suprise when their last txt was this:
"We’re sorry but we’re unable to disclose any further information regarding our decision to deactivate your account." because simply they is no reason.

Conclusion: whetever you play safe or not, if they want to steal your money and crackdown your account they will do, the best way is to not trust them specially
Revolut/Leopay or Leupay which they changed their names because of massive alerts of scam. one day we will see Revolut do the same.

Thanks for reading.. your comment matter.

I know many people who had their business account with Transferwise closed in the same way that you describe here last week.
  • They do not warn you
  • They don't answer any email or call (only automated answers)
  • They do not want to disclose why they closed the account
All account were opened by a US LLC

Revolut has developed a monitoring program that automatically close bank accounts based on some criteria. They didn't publish those criteria. They just have a page in place somewhere in their blog stating that they monitor your account transfers and they may block it whenever they want. whether you open a personal or corporate account does not make a difference. Revolut is a bigggg scam.

They have a UK presence for UK market and Lithuanian market for EU market.

What the OP says is true. Don't trust Revolut.

I know what AI software they use to get alerts, but even if, alot of time software fails, so humain review is a must.

Most likely your transactions patterns shown money laundering pattern to their model. There are lot false positives in AML modeling.

Revolut heavily use Machine Learning to spot money laundering patterns. ML models can result false positives due to bad training data.

Why should you be in UK?
It can be done by email, website or call from FOS.
You do not need to be in UK.
He might have an account with Revolut Lithuania and not Revolut UK.

Hello,
the problem continouos ? Do you have your money free ??
Thanks

He might have an account with Revolut Lithuania and not Revolut UK.

Seems they plan on moving all non-UK clients to Lithuanian entity if there is a no deal brexit and replace GB IBAN's with LT IBAN's .

Not sure why they are not moving them to their bank "Revolut Bank UAB" but instead using the EMI "Revolut Payments UAB". Probably they still have issues with banking license due to Russian connection or maybe just that the bank is provisioned to operate in 6 rather than 31 states.

But why do you think is Revolut Bank UAB only operational in 6 countries and not 31? I thought that passporting EU licence to other member states is kind of automatic . The entity just need to inform each financial authority of the member states.
