Does anyone have any experience with Bali and it's regulations on taxes? I'm going to be travelling through Bali for 6-12 months, after having left my home country for good, and living off savings. I'll be working on building my US LLC while in Bali. Is this advisable? How could it come back to bite me later? Or would it be best to just pay any corporate taxes owed?

Appreciate any advice regarding this,

Thanks

Is Foreign Income Taxed Within Indonesia?

Residents are taxed on their worldwide income while non-residents are only taxed on their Indonesian-sourced income, including Indonesian-sourced capital gains.

Who is a Resident of Indonesia?

You are considered a resident of Indonesia if you reside there with the intention of staying, or if you are present in the country for 183 days in any 12-month period.
For Tax Purpose, Thailand is more beneficial. Not sure about Bali if you live Whole year in bali .
If you do not remit money to Thailand, there is no tax.

P.S. There are many grey area. You can talk to expat living in South East Asia.

It's been a while since I looked into it but as I remember, Indonesia is tricky because they have provisions in their tax residence definitions which include intent, which is very vague. You can end up tax resident there faster than 183 days if you intend to stay longer.

Sure. I'll be living off personal savings, and working through an anonymous LLC. Which I'm sure would be almost impossible to track unless specifically targeted, and even then I'm not sure how they would know.

I want to stay fully compliant, but this seems like a grey area, as the work is 100% digital.

How is it going with your plans and your 100% anonymous company? I'm curious how Bali is for you?
