Some shops take them, like Hermes etc Pretty sure gold sellers in Germany take them too. Currency shops too, some say they don't but finally after double checking the notes, they took them and game me British pound notes against the 500 euros notes.

Supermarkets really don't work and even Hilton Hotel refused when I wanted to pay with a 500€ note, invoice over 1K. Lol, crazy. So it's not easy.
