Looking to start crypto invest fund

Very interesting indeed... :)

I'll basically take a year or two off here in Thailand while the West implodes, but will keep trading cryptos + might be interested in long term planning of a next project...

Regulations here are friendly, but the reality when it comes to dealing with government involves a LOT of work - even when passing around a few brown envelopes haha

Hi !

For now I don't want to open a new thread related to crypto funds formation process because it looks like we have some "crypto fund" specialists or at least people familiar with this matter here.

I have a simple question what is the best or simplest possible setup for a crypto (quant) fund taking in consideration tax aspects, fund administration, auditing requirements and the cost of formation?

I am looking at BVI and Malta options which can be easily found on google but would be happy to read any good comments, ideas from someone who already went through these stages.

Now you can also set up a crypto assets fund in Cyprus as well. It is worth checking this out

Hey there, is there are license or anything needed for that? Whats the name of it? Did not hear of that.
Basically under Cyprus law there are two ways now: either licensed under the normal licensing route if you are offering other services (not just crypto) - in this case crypto assets would be added as an additional service and an additional amount of EURO 5,000 on top of the total amount payable would have to be paid to the regulator.

If you will only offer services for crypto assets then this could potentially fall under the register of crypro asset service providers, which has been introduced pursuant to the transposition of AMLD5 into Cyprus law, which would not need licensing but a registration in the said registry.

It is better to get specific advice on your goals and requirements in order to be advised properly.

Thank you very much, Will dig deeper into that.
