Legally speaking, it is not allowed by the IRS, according to their requirement on Responsible Party -- "responsible party" is the person who has a level of control over, or entitlement to, the funds or assets in the entity that, as a practical matter, enables the individual, directly or indirectly, to control, manage or direct the entity and the disposition of its funds and asset

On top of that, if you used this method, you need to make sure that the Responsible Party be changed back to you once the EIN is secured, by filing any form and mail it physically.

Incorrect, Wise allows you to create a company-only bank account without EIN. You input a dummy one that they themselves provide in their help pages. The only thing, you can't have a bank card tied to that account until you get an EIN. But you can receive and make payments.

That's very good information. I was also thinking that Wise was a no go for a US company so I didn't even try.

For non US residents, and all being equal, which is better: Wyoming LLC or New Mexico one?

I have setup one in both jurisdictions. It's cheap and if you are doing a lot of business you can use all enties you can get banking for I believe.

Mercury bank has been my first choice, working with some others to get an account.
