Starting up this brief thread, which would be a series of more to come along the way periodically. Kudos and recognition to a comprehensive platform and forum well put together by@Jamesspader, Our beloved Mods @MartinEverson @Sols et al...

Without that out of the way,Merchant processors, payment gateways which are a dime a dozen these days provide an infrastructure which is of immense relevance to the purchase of Goods or services online and to be broadly categorized Globally. And as such entrepreneurs, business owners etc require the above as indicated, in order to receive payments from clients globally online, via Credit cards and Debit cards etc.
our focus would be on navigating the naunces for services, products etc considered as High risk.

REAL WORLD APPLICATION:
on a hypothetical scenario, owners of a business from oceania requires a merchant processor/gateway for his High risk business. what readily comes to mind, should be how do i receive card payments from clients globally, based on products listed out on my website?

Tips:
Business owner must consider,the following.
1.What would be the average weekly, monthly sales in cash value?

2.what secure payment gateway category can i process?

3.What settlement systems would i employ, Automated or Manual?

4.How would settlements be carried out?

Tweaks:
most merchant processors are more likely to accept a business with a Higher overall monthly/Yearly threshold, ie from 100,000k to 500,000k equivalent, as this is more profitable short term and longterm.

and as such the business owner based on his forecasted sales threshold would need a Merchant processor that suits his percieved overall weekly and monthly sales.

based on business owners product category, receiving online payments easily without added security criterias is key, as online card payments, require certain online verification steps for additional security. most business owners of highrisk products would prefer less security restrictions for online payments, as Globally products considered high risk are well sorted after with regards to demand, on an overall basis globally..

sales settlements are categorised generally into two main categories.manual and automated.

The former is most suitable for lower monthly cash thresholds, ranging from 1k to 40k equivalent monthly threshold.
alternatively the manual category requires manual inputs sent directly to the clients.(do take note manual inputs could cater to 2D & 3D respectively)

on the other hand the automated process securely accepts card payments, that has been duly verified along certain several security steps prior to sales confirmation. case in question most clients see that as a hassle, scaling security obstacles when purchasing highrisk products. regardless {nothing worth having comes easy}..

All cash settlements are generally executed on the merchant dashboard.a few unique processors require a bank acct attached within the merchant dashboard, which enables the user forward cash at certain intervals ie weekly,bi weekly or monthly to the attached bank acct..
most ideal processors readily provide onward transfers of cash settlement, with options from merchant dashboard to the business owners account via wire transfers,ACH,Crypto etc.

Quirks:
Of utmost relevance to the business owner, would be determining the prospective product or the services overall sales total, summed up to a weekly or monthly sales average.

such considerations are vital as this would lead up to realistic sales results, and longterm profitability. prospective business owners should take into consideration how long they have been in business, prior to onboarding and merchant set ups, as overall sales is the standard towards onboarding by all merchant processors...{Your intentions go hand in hand with determination}.

The ability to process online payments are highly related to percieved clients location, global preference of products/services offered, intended profitability levels, payment anonymity needed etc..realistic considerations
for business owners would be using a processor that would ideally offer less verification procedures for card payments, as this would relate to overall total sales volumes hand in hand with clients ability to carryout return purchases, and Less Cases of Chargebacks for both parties.

The required settlement systems as earlier categorised, dictates the indices for a hands on perspective, the manual step is duly relevant to a specific class of clientele, this enables the business owner send payment links direct to clients mail, which inturn relates to ease of final payments for both the buyers and sellers of products, tracking client base and frequency of purchase is more discreet and personal. this path provides longterm sales, total control of sales volumes at business owners discretion.

whereas an automated choice is strictly up to the paying client fulfilling all security steps as predetermined by the business owner and merchant processor.

Furthermore an automated choice enables the Ability to accept payments regardless of time zone, as the paying client doesnt require a payment link sent directly to his email, business owner makes sales regardless of geographical location, client time zone etc.

payment settlements based on a bank attached to merchant dashboard caters to sending a given amount to the bank acct attached at intervals by business owner, this option is well suited to business owners carrying out business from sensitive jurisdictions, business owners who intend to stay unknown, hands on authorization on payments accepted, caters to specific clients of choice etc....

whereas merchant dashboards without the ability to attach banking, would require business owners initiating specific instructions to the merchant processor as to; when, where and to which bank and via which channel.mostly used channels are ACH,Wire Or Crypto as offered by the Processor.

In conclusion business owners of high risk products requiring online payment, sales of products/services should predetermine what they intend to achieve longterm,
forecasted levels of sales, type of settlement system, current business location, predetermined demographics, ability to receive settled payments and more..

NB: The outlined thread provides certain bread crumbs and trails, and if utilized properly and adequatly comprehended, then its serves as a foundation and key into the world of online Highrisk product sales..{Knowledge Is Power}..
