What do you think about Vanuatu Citizenship?

Vanuatu is on the cusp of losing visa free access to EU/Schengen, so that's something to take into consideration.

No real advantage over more popular, similar programs like Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, St Lucia, or St Kitts; or Malta.

Vanuatu passports are considered high risk by most financial institutions. While that's true for all citizenship by investment passports, Vanuatu itself suffers from a bad reputation due to being among the slowest to implement modern AML laws.

The advantage is that they ask for fewer documents and they're fast

The Caribbean programs ask for crazy documents like your elementary school records, an HIV test, and a lot more

Vanuatu is quick and one of the cheapest. They unfortunately have not been prudent with their applications and some people have received their passport and entered Europe after being deported. The name change is a bonus but not easy to get. Western banking has been difficult to get but Middle East and Asian banking still very possible.
But there are other programs which have more longevity.

Caribbean countries are still the cheapest and fastest European schemes will take a minimum of 1 year at least to of residency before you can apply for citizenship.

Vanuatu run out of passport booklets and will have new ones only after the end of March… And this has happened twice in the ladt 2 years. Concerning the name change possibility Vanuatu is planning to have a cooling-off period of 2 years after the citizenship has been granted - the same way as the Caribbean competitors. And yer, losing visa-free travel to the US is also possible but not very probable

Vanuatu is the fastest and legally the cheapest CBI program (not talking about Caribbean financing options).

Regarding the latest news in regards to Vanuatu and EU - this is part of a political game, nothing that will affect success of any current and near future applications in Vanuatu, but however it may delay the review of the some people's applications.

One country in the Caribbean is always trying to undermine Vanuatu, and has been sponsoring lately many negative articles about Vanuatu and it’s program. I expect soon the same type of ‘articles’ will be published about Dominica, St Kitts and all other countries which have an economic citizenship-by-investment program.

Vanuatu will of course oblige and show that it will ‘clean up its act’.

This happens every few years with EU threatening to cut off visa-waiver with Vanuatu. EU knows very well that they will not proceed with this, as the minute they do, Vanuatu PM declares same day that country is bankrupt and is unable to pay back loans to EU countries such as France etc.

The advantage is that they ask for fewer documents and they're fast

that basically sums up Vanuatu vs Caribbean. Country by country there is more pros vs cons, for example Dominica is considered high-risk in the UAE, so quite lengthy process to open any company or bank accounts, but with Vanuatu very smooth and quick. My personal favorite is Antigua however

This applies to every CIP. You can’t be 100% sure that your passport will not be revoked for some stupid reason.

Looks like they're moving forward with the partial suspension

They are moving ahead with the threat and not the suspension… The main problems have been sorted out, now it is Vanuatu who has to prove that the promises will be kept. Stay tuned and forget

You make the usual mistake of interchanging the concept of citizenship and passport. If the passport is cancelled, you go to court and your case will be decided by the rules of citizenship. If the citizenship law does allow revocation of citizenship and one of the conditions apply to you then tough luck, you deserve what you get. Otherwise you will win your case. In the Caribbean, in Vanuatu, especially in Cyprus etc etc

It is naive to think that courts deliver justice. Rest assured that even if you are right, you have near to zero chances to challenge the revocation of citizenship in court. Especially in those small countries judges are servants of the politicians.

"The islands of Vanuatu were well known as cannibals and the first British Missionaries who arrived in 1839 were killed and eaten on the island now known as Erromango. According to anthropologists, the last recorded cannibal killing on Vanuatu was a recent as 1969."

Don't mess with Vanuatuans!

If true, then the program does have serious problems: "the granting of citizenship to applicants listed in Interpol databases." Interpol shares data on crimes and criminals, so this is no small matter.

The citizenship of politicians or in fact any citizen’s can be also taken away if they commit the same crime? I have no knowledge about Vanuatu having any special rule for the economic investors…
